Alan J Picker

Alan J. Picker, 57, of Delphos, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, at his residence.

He was born October 12, 1960, in Lima to Carl and Margaret (May) Picker. Both preceded him in death.

He is survived by his significant other and best friend, Beth Doster of Delphos; a brother, Carl (Karen) Picker of Troy; four sisters, Carla (Bob) Beckmann of Coldwater, MI, Kathy (Ron) Reindel of Delphos, Cheryl (Rod) Maloney of Elida, and Deb (Larry) Lee of Delphos; and a special nephew and best friend Andy (Katie) Lee of Spencerville; along with other nephews and nieces.

He was a member of Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Eagles #471 and the Moose Lodge #199. He had worked for Browns Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical, LLC for 18 years. Alan was a friend to everyone. Anyone that crossed his path loved him. He was ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He loved the outdoors, music, photography, and had a green thumb. He also loved taking care of nature and kept the birds fed. He loved camping. Blue Water Campground was his happy place.  

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 12, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Reverend David Howell will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research or St. Rita’s Hospice.
