Caleb J. Onnen Gossard of Delphos passed away at the age of 20 on April 14, 2018.
Caleb was born March 5, 1998. He is survived by his mother Bethany Onnen (Rhoades/Dasher) of Delphos; his father Donald L Gossard II of Lima; two sisters, Abigail (David) Temple of Virginia, and Maggie Onnen of Michigan; a nephew Jaxon Gilley of Virginia; his girlfriend, Kaylin Hartstock of Delphos; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His absence will be felt by many, and the world will certainly be a more boring place now without him here.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cole in 2001; and his great-grandmother, Marilyn Earl in 2014.
Caleb was a 2016 graduate of The Center for Autism and Dyslexia in Lima and had hoped to someday pursue a degree in Special Education.
Caleb was a hard worker and was currently employed at Brennco Farms. He absolutely loved his job; particularly because he was able to use his gentle spirit to work with animals.
Caleb loved to fish in the canal (once he could finally stomach to touch the fish or the bait!). He was hilarious, even if he didn’t necessarily mean to be and there was never a dull moment when Caleb was in a room. He loved being outside for any reason and was there whenever anyone needed help.
Anyone who knew Caleb knew he was challenged every day of his life to find his place in this world and for the world to find a place for him in it. He truly was loved and we all believe that now he is finally at peace and no longer struggling. And so we shall sing: It is well with my soul!
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
