Carlene M. Gerdeman, 78, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Delphos. She was born April 1, 1939, in Van Wert to Raymond and Velma Irene (Brown) Evans. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Irvin W. Gerdeman on August 19, 1967; he preceded her in death on February 24, 2008.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (Missy) Gerdeman of Van Wert, and Gary Gerdeman of Delphos; two daughters, Sarah (Dan) Miller and Susan (Danny) Wiseman both of Delphos; one brother, Wilbur (Judy) Evans of Delphos; and seven grandchildren; Kelsie (Tyler) Talboom, Keaton Gerdemann, Valentina, Nephtalie, and Nelson Miller, and Tyler and Adam Wiseman. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Kramer and three brothers, David, Robert, and Larry Evans.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and she was a homemaker. She was a graduate of the Van-Del High school and she volunteered at St. John’s Church festival preparing the chicken. She truly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Daniel Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. A Parish Wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Vancrest Activities.
