Charles August Markward

Charles August “Chuck” Markward, 61, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1956, in Lima to Don and Isabelle Rose Markward, his father survives in Delphos and his mother preceded him in death.

He is survived by a brother, Philip John (Mary) Markward of The Villages, Florida.

Anyone who met Chuck will remember his smile, the joy he had for life, and that he was always happy. He lived at home for 33 years and then moved into Cedar House. Charles was a graduate of Marimor in 1977, where he then entered the Workshop and was employed for 35 years. He had competed in the Special Olympics in softball, track and field events.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Father Daniel Johnson will officiate. Burial will held privately, due to weather conditions, in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Marimor Workshop.
