Doris A. Gerdeman

Doris A. Gerdeman, 84, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Sarah Jane Living Center. She was born September 12, 1932, in Ottawa to Oscar and Cleanora (Siebeneck) Meyer. Both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Earl J. Gerdeman on June 23, 1956; he preceded her in death on July 17, 2015. She is survived by a brother, Carl (Ida) Meyer of Columbus; and two sisters, Marilyn (Gary) Elsass of Sidney and Lorene (Louis) Jettinghoff of Delphos; sister-in-law, Janice Kaskocsak of Dayton; brother-in-law, Bill (Mary) Gerdeman of Delphos; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Gogel. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a graduate of St. Peter and Paul High School and The Ohio State University. She taught 3rd grade at St. John's for many years until retirement. She was a loving aunt, who with her husband entertained many nieces and nephews at their "summer camp", which they all enjoyed. Doris also loved to quilt, travel, garden, and see her flowers grow. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, June 30, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. A Parish wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jo hn's Parish Foundation or St. John's Teacher Endowment Fund.
