James H. Hough

James H. Hough, 78, of Loogootee, IN, formerly of Van Wert, passed away on Saturday, November, 4, 2017, at Martin County Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Loogootee, IN.

He was born November 6, 1938, in Marion, Ohio to Lee and Helen Hough. Both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Mary Jo Persing on June 22, 1963; she preceded him in death on October 31, 2016.

He is survived by two children, Helen M. (Tom) Rode of Van Wert and Jeffrey (Naomi) Hough of Indiana; five grandchildren, Kyle Goodwin, Brandy (JJ) Baker, Zach (Jacey) Hough, Andrea (Anthony) Davis, and Brandon Hough; and six great-grandchildren, Evelyn Baker, John Baker III, Jaiden Goodwin, Karlye Goodwin, Declan Hough, and Ellowyn Hough.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Gibbs; step-mother, Irene Hough; and brothers and sisters, Bobbie Seedle, Kay Holsinger, Ginger Tacket, Charlie Hough, Bill Hough, and Mike Hough.

He had worked at Central Soya for over 20 years, and he enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 4:00p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Reverend Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
