Maynard L. Shobe, 79, of Delphos, passed away on Friday, February 02, 2018, at Van Wert Inpatient Care Center.
He was born November 30, 1938, to Warren and Carol Mae (Prine) Shobe. They both preceded him in death. On June 18, 1960, he was united in marriage to Carol Buzard who survives in Delphos. They were married 57 years.
Maynard is also survived by four children, Terri (Arnie) Coil, Jeff Shobe, Sherry (Joe) Warnecke, and Mike (Jill) Shobe, all of Delphos; 11 grandchildren, Nikki, Derick, Damon, Brandon, Danielle, Ryan, Whitney, Troy, Lauren, Morgan, and Gavin; and 22 great grandchildren, Sami, Hailey, Paige, Spencer, Chandler, Kiera, Eli, Kali, Carlee, Audrey, Briana, Isiaha, Andrew, Chelsea, Alex, Caitlyn, Brandon Jr., Victoria, Evan, Drew, Rorie, and Izzy; 3 brothers, Chet (Glenda) Shobe of Ada; Tom (Sharon) Shobe of Spencerville; and Bill (Betty) Shobe of Delphos; 2 sisters, Sandy (Jim) Hirn of Spencerville, and Pam (Mike) Carder of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Anthony Duane Herron, and a great niece, Alivia Lucas.
Maynard retired from Dana after thirty years of service. He also served in the National Guard for six years. He was a member of the Delphos Eagles Aerie #471, and the UAW of Lima Local 1765.
He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed camping and taking long walks around Delphos. Maynard also loved his dog, Tiny.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Tom Shobe will officiate. Military Rites will be performed by the Delphos Veterans’ Council. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, from 4:00-8:00 p.m at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals.
