Patrick Koester

       Patrick Koester, 59, of Wapakoneta, formerly of Delphos, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. 

He was born November 17, 1957, to Robert and Rita (Sager) Koester.  Both preceded him in death.  On January 29, 1983, he was united in marriage to Beth (Stechschulte) Koester who survives in Wapakoneta.

     Survivors include one son, Robert Koester of Cincinnati, two daughters, Angela (Casey) Welch of Groveport, OH, and Kristine (Matthew) Karnes of Dublin, Oh.; two grandchildren, Lola Ann Karnes and Brady Patrick Welch;  one sister, Jane Koester of Fairborn, and many nieces and nephews. 

     Pat owned and operated Sun Industrial Chemical for thirty years. After selling his company he worked in sales and marketing for WTLW T.V. Channel 44 in Lima.     Pat was a member of Delphos St. John’s Catholic Church and was a 1976 St. John’s graduate.  He went on to play basketball at Ohio Northern, where he received All-American honors in addition to a BA in business. Pat was a loving and devoted husband, proud father and Grandfather. Pat loved to spend time with his family and display his witty sense of humor. He always made his family laugh. He was a wonderful mentor and teacher, and his guidance will forever be instilled into his family members. Most recently, he found enjoyment in showing love to his new grandchildren. Pat was greatly loved and touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever live within our hearts.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral home with a parish wake at 7:30.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church.
