Robert Q. Martin

Robert Q. Martin, 75, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, OH. He was born October 5, 1941, in Landeck to Walter and Sylvia (Rode) Martin. Both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Alexia Martin on July 15, 1967, who survives. They were married for nearly 50 years. Robert is survived by a son, Robert Q. (Christine) Martin, Jr. of Columbus Grove and a daughter, Trina J. (James) Brinkman of Delphos; eight grandchildren, Brandon Martin, Quinten A. (Kylee) Martin, Eric J. Roof, Brandon A. Roof, Chadd D. Martin, Kaylee (Shawn) Pavel, Kiara S. (Brian Pease) Brinkman, Kenzie V. Brinkman; and 7 great grandchildren, Kendall, Sophie, Deacon, Delaney, Delilah, Nona, and Kara; a sister, Sandra K. (Kenny) Ramser of California and a brother, Patrick Lewis of Texas. He was a 1959 graduate of Delphos St. John's High School and a Navy Veteran with three years of service. He retired as a Tool & Die Maker from Dana in 2001 after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Black Swamp Rifle Club. Robert was an "expert hobbyist" from competitive bench rest shooting to motorcycles; starting a new hobby every year. He had a passion for gaining knowledge. Funeral services will be held at Harter & Schier Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastors Pam Geise and Steve Haddix will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery with Military Grave Rites by the Delphos Veterans Council. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017.
