Ruth Monica Pohlman

Ruth Monica Pohlman, 89, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born on February 24, 1928, in Delphos to I.B. "Jim" and Teresa E. (Elwer) Pohlman. Both preceded her in death. Ruth is survived by two sisters, Thelma L. Hoersten of Delphos, and Jean G. Deitering of Brookville, Ohio; one brother, James D. (Darlene) Pohlman of Delphos; nieces and nephews, Elaine A. (Steven) Hale, Randall J. (Pearlann) Pohlman, Jane L. Wittler, Kenneth P. (JoAnn) Hoersten, Irene K. Calvelage, Evelyn M. (Gerald) Martin, Thomas A. (Lisa) Hoersten, Charles T. (Tommi) Deitering, Linda A. (Michael) Miller, Clifford J. (Patricia) Deitering, and Leslie M. (Bill) Dear; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Arthur L. Hoersten and Roger Deitering; nephew, Douglas Pohlman; and in-laws, Leroy Wittler and P. Charles Calvelage. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; former member of C.L. of C #84 in Landeck and former member of the Catholic Foresters Court # 76. Ruth was a graduate of LCC high school and a 1975 graduate of Northwestern Business College. She had worked as a care giver for many years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Father Daniel Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice.
