Sharon K. Overholt, 59, of Gomer, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018, surrounded by her family at her residence after a 10-year courageous journey with cancer.
She was born July 30, 1958, in Lima to Leon “Curly” (deceased) and Betty (Foust) Hall, who survives in Elida. She was married to Brian Overholt on May 19, 1979, who survives.
She is survived by three sons, Brady (Allison) of Elida, Jaden (Hillary) of Gomer, and Riley of Gomer; daughter, Kayla (Andy) Wita of Elida; sister, Linda (Toby) Jenkins of Elida; sister-in-law, Pat Hall of Florida; mother-in-law, Lois Overholt of Gomer; eight grandchildren, Gage, Connor, Lane, and Gatlin Wita and Ava, Norah, Haddie, and Marek Overholt; two nephews, Christian and Nathan; and three nieces, Nakina, Elise, and Jency.
She was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Gary Hall; and father-in-law, Bob Overholt.
Sharon had worked as a bank teller at Commercial/First Federal Bank of Elida for 40 years. She loved camping, travelling, gardening, push mowing the yard, vacationing and going to their lake house. She avidly attended all her kids and grandkids events and was their biggest champion. Sharon was very active and passionately involved in many church activities.
Funeral services will be at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Elida on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Bruce Tumblin will officiate. Burial will follow at Carmen Cemetery near Gomer. Friends may call on Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home and one hour prior to funeral service at the church.
