Vern K Norris

Vern K. Norris, 93, of Delphos passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born in Berrien County, Michigan to Kay E. Norris and Ada May (Knott) Norris.  He was married to Donna B. (Adams) Norris who preceded him in death in 2016.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Jim Norris Sr., a daughter in law, Jan Norris, and a sister, June Fields.

Vern is survived by one son, Jeff (Denise) Norris; one brother, Bob Norris; six grandchildren, Rachel (Alan) Gillaspie of Pickerington, Jill (Travis) Schimmoeller of Delphos, Kevin (Sherri) Norris of Elida,  Jim Norris Jr. , Amy (Todd) Schulte, and Lori (Bob) White, all of Delphos, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Vern had been a long time member of the First Assembly of God Church and the Carpenter House Church.  He was employed at Ex-Cell-O for twenty five years and retired from Chrysler after ten years.  Vern and his wife enjoyed travelling to their winter home in Florida.  He loved woodworking, biking, swimming, and watching his great grandchildren grow.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 that same day. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to The Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
