Whitlee Jane Hughes

Whitlee Jane Hughes, 17 days old, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.

She was born July 21, 2017. at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, to Zachary and Danielle (Whitaker) Hughes, they survive in Lima.

She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Paula and Doug Hughes of Harrod; maternal grandparents, Lisa (Mark Keller) Brown of Delphos and Craig and Lisa Whitaker of Decatur, IN; Paternal great-grandparents, Robert Hower of Bluffton, OH and Diane Hughes of Harrod, OH; maternal great-grandparents, Carol and Jan Bonifas of St. Mary’s’ and Carl and Lola Whitaker of Ohio City; Aunts and Uncles, Jordan Brown of Delphos, Zach and Lauren Whitaker, and Mike (Nicole) Bailey of Ashley, OH, cousins, Lillian and Caleb Bailey; and her furry friends, “Angus” and “Lucy”.

Whitlee was a fighter, being less than 17 days old the doctors and nurses talked of what a feisty spirit she had, enough that she sought the strength to open her eyes to catch a glimpse of her loving mom and dad.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Father Dennis Walsh will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, August 11, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made The Ohio State University Children’s Hospital.
