Geralyn “Geri” Hoehn Keeling-Bailey, 68, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on June 12, 1950, to Marcele (Altenburger) and Rudolph “Rudy” Hoehn. Both preceded her in death. On September 10, 2004, she was united in marriage to Edward S. Bailey. He survives in Delphos. On September 3, 2002, she was to marry Larry Keeling, but in God’s eyes, he was taken away from her on that same day. Geri looked on him as a very special man.
Geri is survived by daughter, Cherie (Jeff) Luersman of Ft. Jennings; sons, Terry (Lori Kahle) Burgei of Kalida, Chris (Megan) Burgei of Ottoville, and Jason (Jamie) Burgei of Delphos; step daughters, Jamie (David) Bradford of Van Wert, Traci (Ed) Carter of Van Wert; and stepson, Tyson ( Leslie) Bailey of Middle Point. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn (Bob) Sickels of Delphos; one brother, Donald (Angie) Hoehn of Delphos; and one sister in law, Rosie Hoehn of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Hoehn, and one sister, Mary Hoehn.
Mrs. Bailey worked at My Place in Spencerville. She also worked at the Delphos Eagles for thirteen years, Phillips in Ottawa, The Fort in Ft. Jennings, and the Ottoville Pharmacy for many years. She was a member of Ottoville Immaculate Conception Church, and attended St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima. Geri was a Girl Scout leader for twelve years, a volunteer for her church, a C. L.C. member, Council #30 in Ottoville, a member of the Delphos Eagles #471 Auxiliary, and the Ottoville Altar Rosary Society.
Geri was a very loving, giving and caring person and was always helping older people. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone. She loved all of her grandchildren, enjoyed going to Nascar races, and was a big fan of Tony Stewart. She also loved sprint races, garage sales and being with her husband and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, and 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018, and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday before the funeral, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
