Jeanette L. Lee-Whitaker, 85, of Delphos, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Sarah Jane Living Center. She was born January 13, 1933, in Ft. Jennings to Joseph and Magdalena (Kahle) Nartker who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Earl Lee who preceded her in death in 1993. She then married Robert Whitaker who passed away in 2009.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Mary) Lee and Larry (Deb) Lee of Delphos; two daughters, Cheryl (Junior) Giesige of Quincy, MI and Janice (Mark) Knowlton of Columbus; one sister, Evelyn (Chuck) Looser of Ottoville; six grandchildren, Joel and Rachel Giesige, Nathan (Tish), Adam (Jessie), and Andrew (Katie) Lee, and six step-grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, Isaac Altenburger, McKayla, Austin, and Ella Giesige, Tristan Lehmkuhle, Gianna, Dalton, Cecilia Lee, and Harper, and Savannah Lee. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Giesige; five brothers, Richard, Virgil, Harold, Donald, and Bernard Nartker; and five sisters, Marie Brickner, Julie Fulks, Thelma Snyder, Arlene Beining, and Ruth Nartker.
Jeanette was not only a housewife but a business owner along with her husband of Lee Construction which is now owned by her sons. She enjoyed crafts and needlework and was a member of the China Painting Club. She was also an avid card player. Jeanette was active in many charities and groups throughout the Delphos and Lima area. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 471, and a lifetime member of the VFW post 3035.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Her nephew, Rev. Phillip Lee, will officiate. Friends may call on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 2-7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association and TV 44.
