Larry G. Mesker

Larry G. “Buck” Mesker, 78, of Delphos, passed away, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at his residence. He was born October 4, 1939, to Frank and Dorothy (Ruen) Mesker. Both preceded him in death.

He is survived by four daughters, Lisa (Kenneth) Rodman of Van Wert, Laura (Will) Waddles of Van Wert, Lizabeth (Dave) Jewel of Convoy, and Leah Anne (Greg) Greer of Logansport, IN; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Rodman, Christopher (Brooke) Rodman, Kelsie (Brandon Wirth) Rodman, Geoffrey (Deanna Machi) Ladd, Austin Ladd, Jessika Rice, Grace Jewel, and Megan and Cole Greer; one great-grandson, Kohen “Koko” Rice; three sisters, Bernice “Nootsie” Porter of Delphos, Irene Barnes of Coco, FL, and Bev (John) Jameson of Delphos; three brothers, Don (Jeanette) Mesker of Arther, OH, Ken (Donna) Mesker of Marshal, NC, and Tony “Ecker” (Margee) Mesker of Delphos. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Winhover, Vicki Mesker, and Linda Mesker; and three brothers, Richard, Dale, and Frank Mesker.

Larry was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Ottoville VFW #3740, Eagles in Wapak, Aerie #691, and the Moose Lodge in Lima #199. He had worked for the Painter’s Union in Lima, retiring after 30 years and he served in the Army during peacetime. He was also a John Wayne fan and enjoyed time with his family, watching NBA, and going to the Creamery.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 11:00a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. There will be military grave rites by the Delphos Veterans Council to start the service. Reverend Brain Knoderer will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
