Leonard F. Warnecke, 86, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his residence. He was born November 14, 1931, in Fort Jennings to Leo J. and Dorothy (Helmkamp) Warnecke. They both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Vivienne Sue Mueller on April 19, 1952, she survives in Delphos.
He is survived by five sons, David (Rose Mary) Warnecke of Fort Jennings, Steven (Diana) Warnecke, Mark (Elaine) Warnecke, Jeff (Janine) Warnecke, and Andy Warnecke, all of Delphos; one brother, Eugene “Gene” Warnecke; one sister, Mary Jane Landwehr; nine grandchildren, Meghan (Anthony) Hovest, Jessica Warnecke, Nicholas (Diana) Warnecke, Kristy (Tom) Elkins, Brett (Alisha) Warnecke, Nathan (Allison),Tyler, Ben, and Lindsey Warnecke; and 11 great-grandchildren, Blake, Ashlyn, and Addison Elkins, Ezra, Milo, and Lane Hovest, Juliet and Ariana Warnecke, and Brylee, Harper, and Madelyn Warnecke.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and the Eagles Aerie #471. He was also a retired loan officer from the Fort Jennings State Bank.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Dennis Walsh will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 20, 2018, at the funeral home from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Parish Wake at 7:30. Memorial contributions may be made to Thomas Edison Workshop.
