Louis Justin Hesseling

Louis Justin Hesseling, 76, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at his residence.

He was born July 6, 1941, in Lima to Raymond and Zita (Dickrede) Hesseling.            Both preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Gary Hesseling of Uniopolis; two daughters, Janet Alexander of Lima and Linda Rister of Delphos; grandsons, Nathaniel and Justin Alexander, and Robbie Rister, Jr.; a brother, Ralph (Diane) Hesseling of North Carolina; and two sisters, Ellen Shepard and Ruth Hesseling, both of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Rister, Sr.; and two sisters, Delores Hesseling and Mary Ann Hesseling.

Louis was a 1959 graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School and was an Army veteran. He retired from Nickles Bakery after 35 years. He was a member of Orioles Nest 173, Lima Moose, and Lima Eagles.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Harter & Schier Funeral Home on Monday, January 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m.  Father Dennis Walsh will officiate.  Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Donor’s Choice.
