Marion L. Jettinghoff, 87, of Delphos, passed away on Saturday, September 08, 2018, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born to Arthur and Mildred (Strayer) Jettinghoff on March 6, 1931. On September 1, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marguerite Burgess. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2016.
Marion is survived by two daughters, Beth (Brent) Baker of Willshire and Barbara (Tom) Wolford of Delphos; three sons, James (Melanie) Jettinghoff of Delphos, Daniel (Marcia) Jettinghoff of Lima and Robert Jettinghoff of Delphos; two sisters, Jane Myers of Spencerville, and Sara (Ronald) Kimmet of Delphos; two brothers, Neil (Beatrice) Jettinghoff, and Larry (Dale) Jettinghoff, both of Delphos; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister, JoAnn Moore.
Marion was an Army Veteran serving from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos. He was retired from Ohio Steel where he worked for thirty two years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3035. He was also an active member and coffee drinker at the Delphos Coon and Sportsman Club. He loved trap shooting and was an avid outdoorsman.
Funeral services will be held at Harter and Schier Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery where Delphos Veteran’s Council will perform military grave rights. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
