Mike Rist Obituary

Mike Rist, 82, of Van Wert, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, at The Meadows of Delphos. He was born August 25, 1936, in Ceredo, West Virginia to Wilbur and Edith (Atkinson) Rist. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Walker on June 18, 1955; she preceded him in death on June 11, 2005.

He is survived by a son, John (Kelly) Rist of Middle Point; and two grandchildren, Colt and Alicia “Lys” Rist of Middle Point.

Mike was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church and was a graduate of Marshall University and The Ohio State University. He was a Navy veteran. Mike had worked as an executive director of the Tri-County Health Board from 1977-1993, then he worked at Wal-Mart from 1993-2008, and was also a probation officer. He loved spending time with his family and his final wish was to see his youngest grandchild graduate high school, which he was able to see on May 19, 2019.

Funeral services will be private at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to The Delphos Public Library.
