Nancy Jean Will

Nancy Jean Will, 87, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Sarah Jane Living Center in Delphos. She was born August 6, 1930, in Delphos to Edward and Nina (Elliott) Morris. Both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Melford James “Skip” Will on October 27, 1951. Nancy and Skip had been married for 65 years when he preceded her in death on March 9, 2017.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Sue (Dick) Oder and Laura Ann (Stuart) Payne;  a son, James Melford (Mary-Ann) Will; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Jeff) Bates, John, Anne, and William Payne, and Hannah and Olivia Will; four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kayla, and Kelsey Bates and Noah Will.

Nancy was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Marie Morris, Virginia May Foust, and Ruth Ellen Kaskel.

Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Delphos Country Club and the Child Conservation League where she sat on the Scholarship Board . She also helped her son James with the Boy Scouts.  Nancy and her husband Skip were very well known as they owned the Carriage Inn for 15 years.. 

Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Sarah Jane Living Center.
