Paul L. Hesseling, Of Delphos, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Vancrest of Delphos. He was born on November 20, 1930, to John and Hilda (Schwinnen) Hesseling. Both preceded him in death.
He is survived by a sister, Rosemary (Elmer) Fortener of Delphos; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim (Jean) Hesseling and Bob (Ann) Hesseling.
Paul retired from Lima National Stone as a load operator after 35 years of service. Following retirement he worked at HG Violet and Delphos Herald. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Lion’s Club where he was a past president and very involved in the Pancake Fund Raiser. He was an auxiliary member of the VFW in Spencerville, CK of O, and Foresters of Landeck. Paul was an avid baseball fan, from watching MLB to little league. He enjoyed attending games at the park every day, having his two hotdogs and Pepsi. He was involved with sponsoring a child at Christmas every year through the Spencerville VFW and he enjoyed dressing up and spreading Christmas cheer for the children in the community. He was a huge polka fan he especially enjoyed Marv Herzog.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 3-8 p.m. with a parish wake to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphos Little League Association or St. John the Baptist Church.
