Paul E. Ralston

Paul Edward Ralston, 88, of Delphos passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Van Crest .

He was born December 13, 1928, in Delphos to Saul and Goldie (Hunsaker) Ralston.  Both preceded him in death.  He was united in marriage to Eileen Purdy on August 22, 1987, she survives in Delphos.                

He is survived by three daughters, Rojean (Jim) Kollsmith of Ft. Jennings, Julia (George) Truesdale of Spring City, TN and Echo (Brad Cross) Ralston of Dry Ridge, KY; one son, Kevin (Kim) Ralston of Ft. Jennings; three grandchildren, Gwyn Daly, Aaron Kollsmith of Dayton, TN, and Chris Kollsmith of Delphos; three great-grandchildren, Joey, Calvin, and Claire; one sister, Linda (Eugene) Haunhorst; and his canine companion Jasmine.

He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Ralston, and a granddaughter.

Paul was a Sexton at Walnut Gove Cemetery for 32 years. He served in the Navy and was a member of the Reserves.  He was a member of the Delphos Eagles for many years and enjoyed Thursday evenings at the club.  Paul was an avid trap shooter for 40 plus years at many clubs throughout the area.

Visitation will be Monday, July 3, 2017, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.  The Delphos Veteran’s Council will begin the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. following visitation, with Rev. David Howell officiating. Interment will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Van Wert County Humane Society or the family.
