Roger D. Wilhelm, 81, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at his residence. He was born November 27, 1936, at home in Delphos, to Oscar and Cecelia (Sever) Wilhelm. They both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Janet Moyer on February 8, 1958; she preceded him in death on February 19, 2003.
He is survived by his children, Linda (Terry) Johns of Delphos, Randall (Ruth) Wilhelm of Ft. Jennings, Russell (Sandi) Wilhelm of Delphos, Diane (Dave) Kill of Delphos, Elaine (Jeff) Gerding of Glandorf, Gerald (Annette) Wilhelm of Delphos, Daniel (Lisa) Wilhelm of Pandora, and Sharon Kay Gossman-Wilhelm of Delphos; two brothers, Ronald Wilhelm of Delphos and Rodney Wilhelm of Florida; sister-in-law, Marian Carol Byrnes of IN; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Roger worked for Meyer Cleaners for 15 years and then for Convoy Equity Exchange retiring after 31 years of service. One of Roger’s passions in life was coaching little league baseball and the city league Braves. He served on many various positions on the baseball board and served on the Recreation Board. He was an avid high school basketball fan. His main focus was his family, especially his grandchildren, attending their sporting and other school events.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 12, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. with a parish wake to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Parish Foundation or Delphos Baseball Association.
