Ruth Irene (Cross) Cooper passed on December 18, 2018 in Delphos Ohio. Ruth was born in Delphos, Ohio in the Marble Town area on March 15, 1926 to William Jasper Cross and Nell Virginia (Fair) Cross.
She is survived by one brother, Richard Alvin Cross of Atascadero, CA and Marcille Rucker of Delphos, OH. Her brothers, William Thomas Cross, Fred Harrison Cross, Danny Paul Cross and her sister, Gladys Louise Sanders predeceased her. She is also survived by her daughter, Cheryl Puzon of Crawfordville, FL and her son, Stephen Cooper of Delphos, OH, together with 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Sandra Sue Johnson, her second daughter, predeceased her.
Ruth was married to George Franklin Cooper of Grover Hill, OH on February 2, 1945 at Cocoa-Rockledge, Florida. They were married to each other until his death in February, 1993. Ruth and George opened The Red Horse Inn in 1946, which was the first drive-in car hop in the area. Ruth was an awesome Mom and Grandmom. She was quite talented at baking, sewing and crochet. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, December 21, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sarah Jane Living Center.
