Steven W. Lawson, 47, of Lima, passed away March 5, 2019, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 15, 1971, in Lima to Danny and Victoria (Furr) Lawson. His mother preceded him in death; his father survives in Lima.
Steven is also survived by a special friend, Sheena M. Baker of Lima; children, Shelby (Erica) Malloy, Torey Lawson, and Trey Lawson, all of Lima; a sister, Glenna (Hurker “Hurk”) Jenkins; two aunts, Phil (Russ) Connor and Susan Davenport; a niece Kayla Upshaw and nephew, Kory Robinson-Upshaw. He was preceded in death by his mother, his son, Tyree J. Lawson; aunts and uncles, Jonathan and Debbie Furr and Denny Davenport; and grandparents, Harry and Faye Furr.
Steven graduated from Perry High School in 1990. He then enlisted into the United States Army and served in Korea for over two years. He was a member of The Lima American Legion post 282. Steven loved to cook and friends and family say he could have been a chef. He also loved to cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Steven loved his children and especially enjoyed spending time with his youngest son, Tyree.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos. Visitation will be held an hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
