Waneta R. Sandlin, 89, of Elida, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at her residence.
She was born January 12, 1929, in Gomer to Rudy and Emma (Moore) Brunk. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Hubert Sandlin; he preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.
She is survived by two sons, James (Cindy) Sandlin of Lima and Doug (Darlene) Sandlin of Elida; daughter-in-law, Cherie Sandlin; two brothers, Glen (Melinda) Brunk of Indiana and Rolland (Edna) Brunk of West Virginia; two sisters, Wanda (John) Zimmerly and Marjorie (Paul) Shenk of Elida; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Sandlin; and a great-granddaughter, Jazmin Sandlin.
She was a member of Sharon Mennonite Church in Elida and had worked as a nurse’s aide at Lima Convalescent Home for 35 years.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service at Sharon Mennonite Church in Elida. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, February 23, 201,8 from 1-4 and 6-8 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice.
