Arthur “Art” Nelson Eversole, 77, of Middle Point, passed away at 11:18 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at his residence. He was born May 12, 1943, in Van Wert County, OH to Milo and Marjori (Mohr) Eversole; both preceded him in death. In 1962, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Friemoth. She survives in Middle Point, OH.
Art is survived by a daughter, Joy West of Cloverdale, OH; six grandchildren, Morgan, Dalton, Tiffiny, Mackenzie, Courtney, Gage; three great-grandchildren, Harper, Finlan, Maizleigh; three brothers, Roger Eversole of Ft. Wayne, Ralph Eversole of Van Wert, Donald (Pam) Eversole of Middle Point; one sister, LaDonna (Bob) Allenbaugh of Ohio City; one brother-in-law, Jim (Celie) Friemoth of Delphos, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant children.
Art served in the Army National Guard for six years from 1966 to 1972 as a Sergeant throughout the United States including Kent State. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Delphos VFW Post #3035, and Delphos American Legion Post #268. He worked for many companies as a Parts Manager, eventually retiring from Knippen’s. He served on the Village Council as President, Joint and Regional Planning Commission, and the Mayor of Middle Point in the past. He coached Pony League for many years in Middle Point. He graduated from Lincolnview High School, the first graduating Class of 1961. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in King Cemetery. Military grave rites will be performed by the Delphos Veteran’s Council. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 22, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Middle Point Fire Department.
