Audrey Joan "Jo" Linder

Audrey Joan “Jo” Linder, 96, of Delphos, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 7:30 am at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born February 9, 1927, in Elida, OH, to Russell and Edith (Davis) Rice. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to John A. Linder on September 3, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2013.

Jo is survived by a son, Louis R. Linder (Cindy Brandehoff), of Fort Myers, FL., two grandchildren, Pat A. (Samantha) Linder and Leslie Geise; and four great-grandchildren, Halie, Adeline, Sophia and Naomi Linder; and a brother, Robert (Phyllis) Rice of Convoy.

Jo was preceded in death by a son, Frank Andrew Linder; great-grandsons Micah, Elijah and John Linder; and sister, Marjorie Burtchin.

Jo was a graduate of Elida High School in 1945 and attended classes at Lima Technical College. Jo was a member of Delphos Trinity United Methodist Church. Her career in the business world was working at Denton Adjustment Company in Lima, Ohio. She also was a secretary and political assistant to Senator J. Simpson and retired from KeyCorp Bank (People’s National Bank.)

Jo’s hobbies included sewing, rock collecting and polishing the rocks. She especially enjoyed giving the rocks to children to enjoy. Jo and John traveled extensively during their marriage.

Visitation will be at Harter and Schier Funeral Home at 209 W. 3rd St. in Delphos on Wednesday, January 31 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume Thursday, February 1 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with funeral services starting at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphos Trinity Methodist Church.
