Beatrice Dunlap, 92, of Cridersville, passed away, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 10, 1930, in Ft. Jennings, OH, to Cloyd and Alvera (Looser) Benson. They both preceded her in death. On December 31, 1948, she was united in marriage to Paul L. Dunlap. He preceded her in death, November 17, 2019.
Beatrice is survived by daughters, Paula (Jerry) McComas of Delphos, Susan (William) Jordan of Lima, Claudia Casebolt of Cridersville, seven grandchildren, Misty (Matthew) Kishbaugh, Brandy Williams, both of Arizona, Rachael (Cameron) Burwell of Oregon, Kevin (Courtney) Casebolt of Lima, Kathy Place of Cridersville, Angie Phillips of Ft. Wayne, Terry (Tiffany Smith) Fair, Melissa (Greg) Fair, both of Lima, ten great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and by many cousins.
Beatrice was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson, Class of 1948, and was a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church.. She was a homemaker and also worked at Millers Dry Cleaning for over 20 years. She enjoyed making candles, square dancing, and was a member of a square dancing club. Living on a farm she helped run pony rides all over the area. She was active in her daughters’ formative years and was a “Room Mother” in their classrooms, and assisted them in their 4-H activities. She also was known to creatively dye the girls’ food in order to get them to eat.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Jerry McComas, and Timothy Bo McComas will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service.
