Betty I. Foust

Betty I. Foust, 84, of Elida, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born September 14, 1937, in Middle Point, OH, to Dwight and Grace (Ditto) Foust. They both preceded her in death. On June 18, 1981, she was united in marriage to Keith Foust. He survives in Elida.

Betty is survived by sons, Rick Holdgreve of Middle Point, OH and Mitch (Brenda) Holdgreve of Minster; daughters, Denise (Tom) Speelman of Mendon, Leslie (Kevin) Elswick of Prospect, OH, and Paula (Angel) Cortes of Cridersville; brothers-in-law, Ron Hageman of Delphos and Frank Foust; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Marjorie Hageman; half-brother, Bill Morris; and aunt, Betty Catell.

Betty was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, Class of 1956. She was a homemaker and worked at JcPenney’s for over 20 years in the Cosmetics and Shoe Departments. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and participating in the Historical Society of Elida. Most important to Betty was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Rita's Hospice.
