Beverly Derrow

Beverly “Bevy” A. Derrow, 76, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s. She was born on October 11, 1945, in Lima, OH, to Mickey and Annie (Crede) Vondran. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Dale Derrow on May 23, 1964. He passed away December 27, 2020.

Bevy is survived by four daughters, Julie (Doug) Fitch, Kathy (Steve) Vorst, Shelly (Fred) Hasting, and Cindy (Kevin) Weitzel all of Delphos; 12 grandchildren: Andy (Abby) Fitch, Nick Fitch, Sarah Fitch, Anna Fitch, Jordan (Angela) Vorst, Amanda (Grant Brand) Vorst, Allyson Hasting, Jim Hasting, Sam Hasting, Megan Weitzel, Maddie Weitzel, and Matt Weitzel; and four great-grandchildren: Lilly Ketcham, Eli Fitch, Owen Fitch, and Wyatt Fitch.

Bevy was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  She was a 1963 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, and a graduate of Richard Weston Beauty Academy. She was a member of The Delphos Lioness Club, formerly president.  Bevy babysat for over forty years which would have included hundreds of kids.  She touched the lives of so many of them at “Bevy’s boot camp.”  She enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her kids.  Bevy especially loved spending time with her family at the lake.  She will be remembered for thinking Vicks was the cure for everything. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

Memorial contributions will be given to a variety of charities.
