Beverly Hale Obituary

Bev Hale, born March 13, 1943, passed away at Van Crest Nursing Home on January 3, 2025 at 3:05 a.m.

As a young bride and devoted mother, Bev was known for her strong work ethic and deep dedication to her family. She began her career at New Life Fitness Center before joining General Motors, where she spent the majority of her professional life. During her time at GM, Bev advanced to the role of supervisor and proudly served on the GM Civil Rights Committee Board, advocating for fairness, dignity, and respect in the workplace.

Following her retirement, Bev returned to Delphos to be closer to the family she cherished so deeply.

Bev’s greatest pride and life’s accomplishment was raising her two sons, Daniel Hale and Paul Hale. Her love, guidance, and strength shaped their lives and will continue to live on through them.

Bev was preceded in death by her beloved partner, Howard Hancock; her brother, David Kemper; her parents, Delmer Kemper and Ruth Kohorst; and her bonus grandson, Jordan Garmatter. 

She is survived by her loving family, including her son Daniel Hale and his wife, Amy DeMeo Hale; her grandchildren Danielle Hale, Austin Hale, and Anthony Hale; and her son Paul Hale and his fiance, Diane Urban, along with bonus grandson Josh (Whitney)Garmatter. She is also survived by her brothers Don (Darlene) Kemper, Del (Scarlett) Kemper, and Marilyn (Ronnie) Jones, as well as many much-loved nieces and nephews.

Bev will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her leadership, and her remarkable strength. Her legacy of love, perseverance, and integrity will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in loving remembrance of Bev, on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Family and close friends are invited to gather to honor Bev’s life, reflect on cherished memories, and celebrate a life well lived.
