Bret Salzman Obituary

Bret R. Salzman, 62, of Van Wert, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1959, in Racine, WI, to Rodger and Jacqueline (Dillingham) Salzman. They both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Gail Lane on December 13, 2013. She survives in Van Wert.

Bret is survived by his children, Tiffany (Matt) Cross of Delphos, John Parsons of Van Wert, Megan Taylor of Delphos, Brittany Taylor of Van Wert, Zach Taylor of Van Wert, Jonathan (Michele) Salzman, Jackie Salzman, Jared Salzman, Justin Salzman; ten grandchildren; brother, Lee (Andrea) Salzman; sister, Faith (Kevin) Farber; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bret was a machinist at Danfoss (Eaton) in Van Wert. He graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1977. During his high school years he played and excelled on the Grafton High School Football and Swim teams. While on both teams he enjoyed competing alongside his brother, Lee. Bret also held a few high school records for swimming. Bret served in the United States Army. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating and swimming.

Funeral services will be held privately.
