Bryce A. Murphy, 63, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17th in his happy place in Connecticut after a long battle with illness.
Bryce was born in Findlay, OH on January 26, 1961, son of Bill and Shirley Murphy. He is survived by his mother; siblings, a sister Barbara (David) Haynes of New Waverly, TX and brother Todd (Mary) Murphy of Bellaire, TX; and two daughters, Ashley (Nicholas) Harr of Ledyard, CT and Morgan (Seth) Yokum of Jersey City, NJ. He was the proud Grandpa to seven grandchildren: Alexander, Gabriel, Michael, Elisabeth, Olivia, Abigail, and Lillian. He is also survived by four nieces, Chelsea (Brian) Nelson of Dallas, TX, Keshia (Jason) Mott of Seguin, TX, Phoebe and Charlotte Murphy of Bellaire, TX, and two great nieces, Paris and Tiana Nelson of Dallas, TX.
Bryce was a mechanic at heart, naturally discovering this passion as a child on his Uncle Ed Sunday’s farm in Reading, MI. After earning his diploma from Findlay High School, Bryce graduated with honors from the University of Northwestern Ohio, earning his automobile and diesel mechanic certifications. He worked for OHM Corp of Findlay, OH and then later CSX of Elizabeth, NJ. One of Bryce’s fondest memories was refurbishing a 1970’s MG Midget. When Bryce wasn’t working on an automobile or piece of equipment, he could be found working on a boat or fishing. Every day was a good fishing day.
Bryce’s celebration of life will be held Friday, November 15th from 10am – 1pm at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, OH followed by interment at Ridge Cemetery in Middle Point, OH.
