Cecilia A. Friemoth, 79, of Delphos, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born September 3, 1941, in Ft. Jennings, OH, to Alphonse and Agnes (Blum) Utrup. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Friemoth on June 22, 1963. They were married for 58 years. He survives in Delphos.
Cecilia is also survived by her children, Tony (Andrea) Friemoth, Jeff (Amy) Friemoth, and Sue Friemoth all of Delphos; grandchildren, Jesse Freund, Sydney Freund, Karlee Friemoth, Aubrie and Jayna Friemoth; brothers, Jim (Carol) Utrup of Wilmington, Sam (Rita) Utrup of Delphos, and Johnny (Paula) Utrup of Columbus Grove; sisters, Margie Koester of Ottoville, Imelda “Minnie” (Gordon) Moenter, Barb (Bill) Kroeger, Ag Klaus all of Delphos, Beatrice Dundas of Ottoville, Helen Friemoth of Newberry, SC, and Mary (Tom) Say of Lima; and brother-in-law, John Turnwald.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Joseph Utrup, Gertrude Utrup, Dolores Turnwald, Anna Landwehr, and Bernadette “Mel” Siefer; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Koester, Louis Landwehr, Gary Klaus, Dave Dundas, and Dick Siefer.
Cecilia graduated from Fort Jennings High School, Class of 1959. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a member of Shepherd’s of Christ Prayer Group. Cecilia worked in the school cafeteria at Delphos St. John’s. She enjoyed supporting her grandchildren by attending their school functions. She was an avid Blue Jays fan.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021, with a Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
