Charles F. Wauben, 83, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the Meadows of Delphos. He was born on May 26, 1937, in Lima to William and Lucy (Konst) Wauben. On January 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Mary Buettner. She survives in Delphos.
He is also survived by four daughters, Jane (Vern) Ritter of Atlanta, GA, Katherine (Michael) Trunk of Lebanon, OH, Peggy (Paul) Moodispaw of Wooster, OH, and Beth (Drew) Gerow of Delphos; one brother, James (Sherry) Wauben of Ralston, VA; and eleven grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by a son, Charles Jr.; three brothers, Paul, William Jr., and Walter Wauben; and one sister, Jeannette (Rodney) Brown.
Charles retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years while doing two tours in Vietnam as a medic. He received the Bronze Star. He also retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he was a carpenter for 20 years. Charles enjoyed fishing, playing cards, golfing and teasing his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
