Obituary
Daniel J. Spence, 58, of Middle Point, passed away June 14, 2023, at Ohio Health-Van Wert Hospital. He was born September 24, 1964, in Lima, OH. He was the son of Daniel L. Spence and Helen and Gary Strayer. Helen survives in Middle Point. He was preceded in death by his father Daniel on November 6, 2013; his stepfather Gary on May 19, 2013; and his sister Laura Lee Spence on May 1, 1979.
Daniel is survived by his fiancée, Connie Bloomfield; his children, Krystal Blue of Lima, Jason Spence of Shawnee, Zachary Spence of Delphos, Kaylynn Spence of Lima and Jordan Mahlmiester of Lima; 11 grandchildren, sisters, Lisa (Jim) Kirk of Elida, Jeri Lynn (Chuck) Ferguson of Defiance, Jennifer (Trent) Gause of Delphos, Angela Strayer of Spencerville; and his dogs, Fluffy and Chico.
Daniel was in the Class of 1982 at Elida High School. He was an avid fisherman, loved to run turtle lines, and frog gigging. Daniel enjoyed tinkering on and riding his motorcycle, carpentry work, and playing the guitar.
Graveside Services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, OH. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate.
