David A. Fischer

David A. Fischer, 55, of Delphos, passed away at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  He was born on July 27, 1966, to Arthur and Gertrude (Hotz) Fischer.  They preceded him in death.  On June 30, 1990, he was united in marriage to Michelle Schimmoeller.  She survives in Delphos.

He is also survived by three children, Christian (Brittany Reyes) , Rebekah (Jon Slagle), and Collin (Andrea Snow) Fischer, all of Delphos; two grandchildren, Ashton and Ember; two sisters, Marietta “Etta” (Steve) Schimmoeller of Delphos, and Nancy Ball of Shawnee; and one brother, Denny (Kathy) Fischer of Ft. Wayne.

David was a member of Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a 1984 graduate of St. John’s High School.  He worked at LACCA which is now WOCAP in Lima.  He was the director of facilities.  He did everything from tech to security and everything in between. 

He was a member of the NRA and loved to fish, hunt, and work on cars.  Most important to him, though, was his family, especially his children and grandson.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Fr. Tony Vera will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.  A Parish Wake will be held at 7:30 p.m.
