Donald E. Allemeier

Donald E. Allemeier, 95, of Delphos, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022, at his daughter’s residence. He was born December 4, 1927, in Fort Jennings, OH, to Walter and Clara (Lincoln) Allemeier. They both preceded him in death. On June 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Joan Schaeper. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2016. They celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Donald is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Dan) Myers of Delphos; a son, Dale (Donna Kerr) Allemeier, of WV; three grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) Myers of Delphos, Craig (Meghann) Myers of Ft. Jennings, and Steve (Laura) Myers of Kalida; three great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Alysann, and Jacob Myers; and a sister, Jeannette (Jim) Stockwell of Delphos.

Donald was preceded in death by brothers, Ray, Paul, and Robert Allemeier; and sisters, Margaret Nichols and Helen Fair.

Donald graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School; Class of 1946. Joining the Army right after high school, he was a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne serving from 1946-1948; and was in Japan in 1947. Donald built, operated, and retired from Delphos Tent & Awning. Donald was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching high school sports. Donald was a devoted Delphos Jefferson, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
