Donald H. Picker, 90, of Delphos, passed away at 4:03 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s. Donald was born March 22, 1931, in Van Wert County, OH, to Frank I. and Grace H. (White) Picker. They both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Delores Mullenhour on February 14, 1948. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2007.
Don is survived by his two daughters Vickie Picker of Delphos and Diane Picker Parker of Bellefontaine; a son Michael (Lynn) Picker of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren Danielle Landes, Angela Woodman, and Ashley (Jordan) Snyder; great-grandchildren Kierstin Landes, Christopher Picker and Dylan Penhorwood; sister, Betty Jean Harner; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl “Duke” (Margaret) Picker and Gerald “Jerry” (Junella) Picker; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou (Jerry) Williams; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Bonnie Sybert; brother-in-law Ralph Harner; and son-in-law, Gregory Parker.
In his early years, Don worked at Myers Cleaners in Delphos. Later, he took Heavy Equipment training in Homestead, Florida. This training enabled him to be a part of the crew that built the new US 30 Highway. Don retired from Ford Motor Company, where he worked as a machinist.
In his day, Don enjoyed tinkering on cars, hunting, fishing and golfing. He also liked trimming trees. But, he most enjoyed taking rides in his Taurus and his beloved dog, Lady, throughout the countryside.
There will be a Graveside Service at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.
