Douglas Schabbing

Douglas Schabbing, 58, of Van Wert, formerly of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 8, 1964, to George and Nellie (Dempsey) Schabbing.  Both preceded him in death. 

Doug is survived by his sons, Johnithon (Kathy) Schabbing of Van Wert, Andrew Schabbing of Van Wert, Tieler (Tara) Schabbing of Beaufort, SC, and Keegan Schabbing of Delphos; a daughter, Jessica Schabbing of Beaurfort, SC; a brother, George “Butch” (Peggy) Schabbing of Middlepoint; sisters Brenda (Skip Wallace) Neil of Lakeview, Esther (Larry) Wilson-Schabbing of Canton; a brother-in-law, Don Snyder; and fifteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Paula Brown, “Bubba” Schabbing, and Vera Schabbing.

Doug attended Delphos Jefferson High School.  After many years of service, he retired from Lakeview Farms.  He loved playing the guitar, fishing and target shooting.  He was also an avid motorcyclist.  His best times were spent with family. 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 8:00 pm at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos.  Visitation will be held that same day from 12:00-4:00 and 5:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
