Doyle G. Martz

Doyle G. Martz, 94, of Delphos, passed away at 10:04 a.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at his home. He was born May 15, 1926, in Columbus Grove, OH, to Harry and Evelyn (Pugh) Martz. Both preceded him in death. Doyle was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Betts on February 29, 1963. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2015.

Doyle is survived by his son, Gary Martz of Middle Point, OH; five grandchildren, Eric Martin, Jolene (Shane) Talboom, Bethann (Brent) Osenga, Faith Martin, and Hope Martin; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Coil of Columbus Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a grandson, Edward Joseph Martin; two brothers, Robert (Barb) Martz and Donald (Marcene) Martz; two sisters, Wanda (Mel) Waters and Dorothy (John) Kendle; and a brother-in-law, Jim Coil.

Doyle worked at Martz Masonry with his two brothers and retired after 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked at D & D Ingredients in Landeck. He was a member of the Delphos Eagles Aerie #471 and the Van Wert Moose Lodge #1320. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Doyle was also a big Cincinnati Reds, Denver Broncos, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ottawa River Cemetery in Rimer, OH. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, and one hour prior to funeral services at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
