Dr. Earl L. Morris of Delphos, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at The Meadows of Delphos. He was born October 25, 1924, in Leipsic, OH to James and Leora (Kain) Morris. On March 11, 1944, he was united in marriage to Margie Baker. She survives in Delphos
Dr. Morris’ children include his son Scott Morris (deceased) and his children, Geoff Morris, Chris (Heather) Morris, and Andrea (James) Parlette; his son James (Pamela) Morris and their children, Ryan Morris, Zach Morris, Jamie (David) Butorac; his daughter Cindy (James) Redmon and their daughter Rachel Minnig; eleven great-grandchilden; and a sister-in-law, Marietta Morris of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Burl Morris, Paul (Helen) Morris, Clifford (Jessie) Morris, George (Darlene) Morris, and Richard (Patricia) Morris; and a sister, Wilma (Rolley) Ruskey.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Nassau as a signalman from 1944-1945 in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
Dr. Morris graduated from Palmer College in 1958 and came to Delphos as a chiropractor opening Morris Chiropractic Clinic with his brother Burl who was also a chiropractor. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he, in his earlier years, was the Sunday School Director and Chairman of the Board. He was a Member of the Delphos Country Club serving on their board of directors as well. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post 3035, the American Legion post 268, the Delphos Club and the Delphos Rotary. He was also a Mason with the Delphos Masonic Lodge for fifty years. Dr. Morris was a member of District 7, Ohio State, American and ICA Chiropractic Associations.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Private Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital.
