Edward L. Friedrich

Edward L. Friedrich, 89, of Delphos, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Vancrest of Delphos. He was born October 2, 1935, at home in Delphos, to Joseph V. and Rose (Carder) Friedrich. They both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Rose Marie Hindenlang for 46 years. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2001.

Edward is survived by his children, Barbara (Daniel) Kimmet of Spencerville, Marilyn (Donald) Utrup of Delphos, Dorothy Liles of Delphos, William (Denise) Friedrich of PA, and Kathy Rison of Ohio City; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a handful of great-great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Fischer, Hilary Friedrich, Marilyn Hemker, and Sister Carl Joseph.

Edward was a graduate of Delphos St. John High School, Class of 1953. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Edward was a farmer for 30 years. He was also a long haul truck driver for Kill Brothers and surpassed the million miles marker. Edward was a member of the Delphos Eagles #471, Knights of Columbus Council #1362, Lifetime Member of VFW Post #6772, and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He loved mowing the grass, tinkering around on the farm, shopping, and traveling.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home with a K of C Rosary Service at 6:15 p.m. and a Parish Wake Service at 6:30 p.m.
