Edward M. Rigdon, 92, of Venedocia, passed away on March 30, 2023, surrounded by family at his home.   He was born February 7, 1931, at home in Van Wert County, to Marion and Cleo (Mullenhour) Rigdon.  On August 25, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary (Sterling) Rigdon who survives in Venedocia. Edward retired from Oakwood Forensic Center, formerly known as Lima State Hospital, after 30 years.

He is also survived by his children, Sandra Rigdon and Mark (Tracy) Rigdon of Venedocia, and Jim (Jennifer) Rigdon of Van Wert; two brothers, Frank (Priscilla) Rigdon of Venedocia, and Ralph (Susan) Rigdon of Van Wert; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Patricia Rigdon; a son, Ray Edward and a still born son; two brothers, Earl and Everett Rigdon; and a granddaughter, Mary Anna Stose.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery.
