Obituary
Ernest “Ernie” Hines, 79, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1944, in Ohio City, OH, to Carey and Edith Hines. They both preceded him in death. On November 14, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sharon Drewyore. She survives in Delphos.
Ernie is also survived by his children, Todd (Kimberly) Hines of Maumee, and Tracey (Craig) Boberg of Delphos; grandchildren, Ashley (Jeremy) Stemen of Delphos, Amanda Boberg of Cleveland, and Madison and Kennedy Hines of Maumee; and great-grandchildren, Laila, Carson, and Kaizer.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russel Hines.
Ernie was a graduate of Ohio City High School. He was retired from Chrysler. He was a member of Delphos Eagles Aerie #471, Delphos VFW post #3035, and the American Legion post #268. He was an avid golfer and won several awards for this. He loved to socialize with his friends and family especially babysitting his grandkids.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 2:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
