Eugene “Gene” Sadler, 56, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born November 30, 1963, in Fort Knox, KY, to Thomas and Agnes (Bridges) Sadler. They both preceded him in death. He is survived by a sister, Deb Howard of Brookeville, IN. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Sloan.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW #3035, Charter member of the Sons of American Legion in Fort Jennings, the Delphos Veterans Council, and was a 1981 graduate of Ottoville High School, where he was the valedictorian. He was also a 1987 graduate of Lima Technical College, where he earned his RN. He had worked as a RN for Coleman Professional Services. Gene also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Grenada and Cold Wars.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Reverend Steve will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Jennings, with military grave rites by the Delphos Veterans Council. Friends may call on Friday, May 8, 2020, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
