Francis C. Sterling, I, 77, of Ashley, IN, formerly of Delphos, OH, passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, IN. Francis was born January 9, 1944 in Delphos, OH to Homer and Nellie (Cotterman) Sterling. They both preceded him death.

He is survived by his three children, Christina (Billy) Gann of Ashley, IN, Valarie (Alan) Campbell of Van Wert, OH, and Gregory (Miranda) Sterling of Lima, OH; one brother, Ray (Florence) Sterling of TN; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Francis C. “Rusty” Sterling, II and one great grandson, Benjamin L. Seibert, II.

Francis worked at Gilpin, Inc. in Decatur, IN until his retirement. He was a past member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Delphos, OH. In his spare time, he enjoyed building models, puzzle searches and card games.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
