Ida "Jeanie" Jeanine Ulrich

Ida Jeanine “Jeanie” Ulrich, 84, of Delphos, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born December 24, 1936 to Matthew and Valeria (Thines) Altman. They preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Roland Ulrich in 1956. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, sister, Barbara (Chuck) Link; brothers, Joe and David Altman; and sister-in-law LuAnn Altman and Tracy (Butch) Ulrich.

Jeanie is survived by two sons, John and Bob Ulrich; a brother, Byron (Jane) Altman of Delphos; sisters, Marcia (Scott) Prindle of MI, and Virginia Tierney of Gomer; a granddaughter, Tosha; brothers and sisters-in-law, Toni (Cramer) Osting, Diane (Roger) Horstman both of Delphos, Jack (Sharon) Ulrich of KS, Paul Ulrich of WA, and Butch Ulrich of FL; and many nieces and nephews.

 Jeanie eyes sparkled when she talked about her fond childhood memories playing on Franklin Street with her brothers and sisters, especially when it included her cousins.

Jeanie and her late husband owned successful businesses over the years.  The two businesses she reminisced about the most were Hobo’s and Star Bars. She shared many memories of the personal relationships with the patrons and employees and the hard work they did as entrepreneurs. She was an avid antique collector and Jeanie prided herself on being an immaculate housekeeper and a great cook. She credited her perfectionism in her daily chores as a gift and a curse from her father, and her love for surrounding herself with pretty things from her mother.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, OH. Respects can be given to Jeanie and her family before Mass begins. A rosary will be prayed in the church 1/2 hr prior to the funeral Mass. Everyone is welcomed to join in praying the rosary in assisting the soul of our loved one in their journey to attaining eternal life and peace.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family which will be given to Mental Health Awareness charities.
